my two favorite jesses

First, I just had to post this, just for the hell of it.

Second, despite his lame green socks (that are still rather adorable), I still love Jesse Lacey more than words.

I love his "sort of smile" in this one.

Set list (not in order):
  • The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot
  • Sowing Season
  • Luca
  • Handcuffs
  • Degausser
  • Me vs. Maradona vs. Elvis
  • Oh Comely

And of course . . .

Here's the rules: Bold what you've read, italicize what you started but couldn't finish, cross out what you couldn't stand, underline what you want to read but haven't yet. reprise the theme song and roll the credits

Yeah, yeah, I know, three posts in one day, but my discovery of this today just made me understand why people love youtube so much. Man I miss elementary/middle school.

sometimes i forget just how perfect this song is

well i wrote your name and burned it,
see the color of the flame,
and it burned out the whole spectrum as if you were everything,
im just burned gold,
a normal flame,
i am not anything,
and all that i remember is the feeling of waking up,
when we were kids you were the sun to which my eyes would not adjust,
when we were kids i was a fountain you could never drink enough,
then came all the boys who swept you up,
played careless with your heart,
and every night there was a new girl sitting beside me in my car,
something dies when you grow older,
but you do the best you can,
i am glad,
i am glad,
you found a good man.

i love lane, but seriously?

can we review the last four Law & Lit books/stories I've had to read?

  • The Law of Life by Jack London - old man left in the snow to die and abandoned by his tribe. He gets eaten by wolves at the end.
  • So Much Water So Close to Home by Raymond Carver - group of men on a fishing trip discover the body of a dead girl and leave it there while they continue their fishing trip as planned
  • A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest J. Gaines - man is wrongfully charged with murder and given the death penalty
  • A Good Man is Hard to Find by Flannery O'Connor - family traveling to Florida for vacation gets into a care accident and are caught by an escaped convict, who shoots and kills all of them
Granted, they've all been very interesting . . . but I'm beginning to wonder . . .
